Hi, I´m Jaimi

My name is Jaimi, and I am a mom who loves to encourage other mothers in the season of raising children, making a home, and staying focused on the end goals of motherhood. I am the mom of four, including a set of twins. I am also a military wife, writer and “professional” playdate planner. We have to meet mom friends somehow, right?!

I studied early childhood education and teaching in college, so I was able to study a lot about child psychology, family dynamics and what research shows about those two factors in the life of children. I decided to channel that background and the feeling like I could really help moms who were just trying to survive at home caring for their families.

The stay at home mom survival guide is my little ministry. The blog has really grown from where it started. It is a resource for mothers, parents, and even teachers.

Encouraging My Husband

Encouraging My Husband

It used to bother me. In fact, I probably held a bit of a grudge. When other women would share their proposal story there was romance, excitement, and elaborate details involved. For me, it was better to just gloss over the topic. “He said, 'Will you marry me?' and I said, 'Yes.'” Simple....

‘Sticky Ball’ Fine Motor Activity for Infants

In 5 minutes, you can prep this fine motor activity for infants and toddlers. Around 6 months old, infants can grasp and handle toys and balls pretty well. They may even be rolling or lightly tossing a ball to you during playtime. Infants develop so much over the course of their first year, but it...

Losing Myself in Motherhood

Losing Myself in Motherhood

I was losing myself in motherhood. Motherhood. A collection of ups and downs, highs and lows, joy and sadness, frustration and love - there is just so much that comes with motherhood that is unexpected and not easily describable. Think for a moment about how many parenting books are currently on...

Becoming A Stay-at-Home Mom

Becoming A Stay-at-Home Mom

What really solidified my desire to focus on becoming a stay-at-home mom was my miscarriage. Getting attached to that baby so fast, having only weeks to celebrate the new little life, and then to have to let go of that life in such a gruesome way, made me realize how precious time is-particularly...

DIY Books for Babies and Toddlers

DIY Books for Babies and Toddlers

Creating DIY books for babies is a simple way to introduce babies and toddlers to reading and books while creating an infant activity they can play with for months and years. I made DIY books for my oldest daughter (baby #2) when she was less than a year old and we still have the book I made for...

When I Feel Alone

When I Feel Alone

I make a career of waiting. I am a military wife-hurry up and wait is part of my life. I am alone a lot. Whether it is waiting for my husband to get home after 3 weeks away at a field operation, or after a 6 month deployment. I wait a lot. Add in being a mom-you know how that goes-and I pretty...
